Provision of safe drinking water is the basic necessity. The greatest challenge in front of government of INDIA is to provide every rural person safe adequate water for drinking, cooking, and other domestic needs on a sustainable basis. While accessing drinking water continues to be a problem, assuring that it is safe is a challenge by itself. Providing safe drinking water to all in rural India is a challenging task. The scheme that has been designed by CHETNA includes carrying out of a exclusive campaign with the help of our Volunteers, members and service providers, and we have designed the following scheme in implementing our Mission.
PROGRAMMES
- Conduction of regular awareness drives among all the villages on regular basis and it results in spreading information dissemination among the masses on the ways and means of preventing contamination of water sources and effective use of underground water in an economical manner.
- Regular testing and monitoring of the available water of the nearby villages with the help of the infrastructure of NTPC chemical Lab , and NTPC Hospital and there by providing safeguard norms for utilizing the water.
- Survey, supply, installation and commissioning of hand pumps in severely backward villages of Bhagalpur district which are facing acute water crisis.
- Conducting regular surveys among the villages of Bhagalpur district to get information regarding inoperable hand pumps and thereby arranging for the repairing and proper functioning of all those hand pumps, to make them accessible to the villagers.
