CHETNA SWAYAMSEVI SANSTHA is a Non-Governmental Charitable Organization formed by the socio-responsible employees of NTPC LTD, PROJECT KAHALGAON STPS, and we are committed to alleviate human sufferings and promote a sustainable and steady socio-economic, educational and moral development of the underprivileged of the Society. We have learnt that permanent change is only possible when we tackle the root cause that continues to keep the rural India uneducated, exploited and vulnerable. The name CHETNA by itself symbolizes the gracious casue of the Orgasnisation.

Giving prime importance to our socio-obligations as a responsible corporate citizen of NTPC LTD and being a responsible citizen of INDIA , CHETNA started off its journey from 1998 with the support and cooperation from NTPC Management . We are appreciative to NTPC LTD since NTPC has funded maximum developmental Programmes of CHETNA , and also has provided us vital strategic and psychological support as and when required. In our process of being self reliant CHETNA has got registered on 29-March-2011 under Society Registration act 21,1860, and confer the name of CHETNA SWAYAMSEVI SANSTHA.

Since its inception CHETNA has worked relentlessly among the underprivileged people of the remote villages of Bhagalpur dist,and has developed and implemented a plethora of Programmes for their sustainable development. We are lucky to have a pool of self motivating volunteers from all sections of the society who render their valuable service and who are guided by a pool of engineers and doctors who are active CHETNA members , and we have succeeded in making our presence felt among the nooks and corners of rural villages of Bhagalpur dist and has gained people’s confidence.
