Cultural Development Programmes

 

The strong and inescapable cultural implications of education and development were recognized right from the beginning of the epic scale national reconstruction. The inter-linking of education and culture seeks to discover the inherent talent and potential of a child and develop his personality. With this in view, a programme of action has been formulated by CHETNA, right from the pre-primary stage to the higher levels of formal education. Some of the salient features of this culture-education linkage are mutual participation, use of inexpensive and relevant material for cultural exposure, promotion of a concept of cultural neighborhood involving active participation of the community irrespective of age, caste or creed barrier.

 

CHETNA cultural development programme consists of the following endeavours:-

 

*Organizing training classes for teaching Dance, Drama, Singing and other cultural activities.
*Organizing cultural program “UDAAN” annually consisting of village children which gives them a platform to exhibit their hidden talent and development of their Intellectual Quality.
*Organize drama for creating environmental awareness, social awareness.

 

Agricultural Development Programmes

 

Agriculture is concerned to be the backbone of rural India’s economy, agricultural and non-agricultural intervention help improve food security, increase agricultural incomes and reduce risks of the landed farmers and provide livelihood options for the poor and landless farmers are given prime importance by CHETNA. The major goal of CHETNA’s agricultural programmes has been to ensure food security, increase net incomes and reduce risk for farmers. CHETNA achieves these goals by working to improve the quality of land, increase the availability of seeds,water for irrigation and introduce new inputs or technologies that improve agricultural productivity.

 

The programmes undertaken by CHETNA are as follows :-

 

*Distribution of high quality of seeds (RICE,MAIZE and ONION) among the farmers of the villages of BHAGALPUR DIST.
*Organizing KRISHI MELA for giving awareness and Technical Support to the villagers about advancement of agricultural field.
*Knowledge sharing camps for irrigational methods, and also camps by agricultural experts where knowledge related to pesticides, medicines to plants, etc are discussed.

 

Environmental Awareness Programmes

 

Environmental Education, Awareness and Training plays a significant role in encouraging and enhancing people's participation in activities aimed at conservation, protection and management of the environment, essential for achieving sustainable development in rural INDIA. The main objectives of this programme are to educate rural children about their immediate environment and impart knowledge about the eco-systems, their inter-dependence and their need for survival, through visits and demonstrations and to mobilize youngsters by instilling in them the spirit of scientific inquiry into environmental problems and involving them in the efforts of environmental preservation. The adults are also encouraged to participate in this programme so that their knowledge horizon is widened.

 

*Organizing painting and drawing competition.
*Distribution of plants of various varieties to be planted in different locations.
*Conduction of Essay competition to create awareness.
*Organize drama related to environmental conservation.
*Awareness programs like rallies , flag marches etc are conducted.

 

Physical Development and Sports Programmes

 

Sports, in general, have had an important and estimable function in life and is inevitably regarded as the indispensable factor for intellectual and moral growth. Athletics refresh the body, tranquilize and enlighten the mind, and develop moral character. CHETNA has realized that to build a healthy rural INDIA, and to develop a feeling of camaraderie sports must be promoted in the villages of INDIA so that all round development of body and mind can take place. The sports programme undertaken by CHETNA are :-

 

Help to Anathalayas and Blind Schools

 

*Financial help
*Books and stationary
*Daily use items
*Provide hygienic drinking water
*Distribution of fans, blankets etc.

 

*Organizing Cricket match among the village teams
*CHETNA Cricket team consisting of talented children of different villages.
*Distribution of sports item among village schools and Bhagalpur Anathlaya, Blind School ,etc.
*Conduction of sports meet and athletic meets exclusively for the ladies.

 

Sports to be organised in different villagers.



Computer classes to be organised.



Health awareness programme.



Moral value awarness programme.



Talented students of nearby High Schools to be rewarded.



Libraries of different villages to be facilitated with books,accessories.



Cultural program to be organized in different villages.



20 Nos sewing machines to be distributed among village women for their livelihood.
